dottination on "[Plugin: WooCommerce] Pending Payments"

I am new to WooCommerce. A few of my orders showed up as pending payment...I was not sure what that meant. I clicked "something" and it changed to processing, however, these payments weren't received in PayPal previously. How does my changing pending payment to processing affect my customer...if at all?
