Wendihihihi on "[Plugin: Email Subscribers] Should ###POSTIMAGE### appear in notifications?"

ساخت وبلاگ

Hi, I am using the latest version of Email Subscribers. The ###POSTIMAGE### keyword is included in the notification mail, but is not appearing in the email notification itself. There is a Featured Image chosen for the post.

Should this work, or is there any way I can get the notification to include an image?

Thanks.

With me an image shows up but it's 100x100px. The featured image is much larger than that so it's clearly not using the featured image.

Hi,

You can use 'Add Media' button to upload any featured image that you want to add in notification mail.

Sorry, I'm not quite sure what you mean.

What is the purpose of ###POSTIMAGE###? What image does this variable refer to?

Hi,

###POSTIMAGE### refers to featured image of the post. If after adding that variable, image is not visible in the emails, then you can use 'Add Media' and add the image while composing the email/notification.

Thanks. Apparently the ###POSTIMAGE### doesn't currently pull the Featured Post image, is there any plan to fix it? If not, I'll just remove the variable.

Hi,

We'll have a check with it and if necessary will fix in later versions of Email Subscribers.

That sounds great. Thanks.

Hi,

Is this fixed with version 3.1.1?

@Wendihihihi,

Nope.

It would be great if the images appear in the correct size when we add featured images with the featured images button.

I have not tried the 'Add Media' button option yet. I will see if that's an easy way.

@Wendihihihi,

We'll have a check with this and will modify so the featured images appear in correct size.

Hi,

I tried your suggestion: "You can use 'Add Media' button to upload any featured image that you want to add in notification mail."

The image size is still 100x100px. It needs to include the full size, not the thumbnail.

Had to fix it, because I need to start using the plugin.

In es-sendmail.php line 356:
$post_thumbnail = get_the_post_thumbnail($post_id, 'thumbnail');
put 'full' instead of thumbnail.

@Wendihihihi,

Thank you for the fix. We will have a check with it and will include it in the next release of Email Subscribers.

Not fixed yet... Just got an email with thumbnail 100x100px and not the full size featured image. I added it through the 'Add Media' button. I might have some time this weekend to look at it.

I don't know if query/db_compose.php line 80 public static function es_template_getimage($postid=0, $size='full', $attributes='') would fix it. I have to wait until Tuesday to see it. There is no way to test a new post, right?

@Wendihihihi,

If you modify code in es-sendmail.php line 356 to this :
$post_thumbnail = get_the_post_thumbnail($post_id, 'full');
and then the keyword ###POSTIMAGE### in your compose mail, then the post featured image will appear correctly.

We tested that at our end and it is working correctly.

Yeah, that's also what I thought and it should work, but I still got the thumbnail. This weekend I'm going to make some new posts and see if it works this time.
