I noticed another dentist using the same template that I am.

When you click on his services page, he has a nice sidebar of "our services" on the right hand side. http://southeastdental.ca/service/markham-cosmetic-dentistry/

I'm wondering if there is an easy way I can add the same to my website

In Appearance > Menus, I created a second menu of services. How can I implement that as a custom menu widget in the sidebar so that it shows up on all service pages (and looks nice of course!)

Basic instructions to get you started:
1-if you have created a new menu of service then select that new menu for the custom menu widget
2-add custom menu widget to the appropriate sidebar area available in your theme.
3-if you need to have the widget show on only selected pages, then install and follow the instructions to activate and connect jetpack plugin --use widget visibility module

AFTER you get the menu widget showing in the right place
4-"making it look nice"-that will be handled by your current theme's style file. if you need to make adjustments to the style, use a child theme or CSS editor.
