jimduchek on "[Plugin: Simple History] Loading history... stuck not loading"

With the new version 2.2.3 the ajax screen it's loading the message "Loading history..." displays but never loads anything.

I know there is events there as it says there is 32 events today but the loading screen just stays stuck and doesn't load.

It's doing it on the dashboard screen and on the main screen.

Sounds like a problem with the ajax call. Any chance i could take a look at the site? If so, send login to [email protected]

Same with version 2.2.4 / WP 4.3.1.

Server Software Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS)
PHP Version 5.3.3
MySQL Server 5.0.95

Works a while after DB cleanup, then just loading...

I can't reproduce this myself, so I would love if someone could send me login to an installation where this happens.

I'm getting this error on WP v4.4, Simple History v2.5.

I can send you login details if you would be able to take a look? I'm presuming it's some kind of server permissions error, but would be great to know for sure.

Thanks, Pär. The error is only happening on the live installation of our site, not on our dev sites. The live site is on a different server than the dev sites. I can't give you CMS access to the live site if there's any danger of the database getting disrupted, even though I have backups in place of course.

I've taken a screenshot of the CMS showing the interface hanging with the 'Loading history...' message, along with the error in the dev tools console.

Are there any requirements on directory permissions which would affect the plugin's workings?

Hopefully this helps -- I had the same problem. PHP needs the mbstring extension installed.
