I have shared hosting with Hostgator as well.

Got off with live chat before seeing this. Asking them to restart apache is like asking them to donate a kidney. All live support did was submit my request to a tech admin.

I'm pretty sure HG's final response is going to be plugin/wp issue like everybody elses.

Surprised HG is not on this!

Could not update 3 week old wordpress install, nor the basic themes, or any of the 5 plugins I installed.

Had to do it all manually through FTP - boooooo
