bryonymcl on "Not receiving email notifications for Idea"

Hi

I'm using WordPress 4.5.3 and in Settings > Discussion I have selected the option to receive emails whenever anyone posts a comment, however I am not receiving these email notifications. Any idea as to why? I notice this is a problem others have had before but haven't been able to find any solutions yet.

- Ask your hosting provider what's going on (e.g., if any of their SMTP filtering rules have changed recently; If for some reason your notification emails have been simply queued. etc.)
- Also ask them if you need to setup SMTP. If you do, then you can use a plugin for it, for example: https://wordpress.org/plugins/postman-smtp/

Agreed, I personally used Mailgun. While you need to do a bit of DNS work the time I spent dealing with email on a shared host was ridiculous!

Thanks Tara. I'm quite new to WordPress and not very tech savvy - do you have an online tutorial / FAQ sheet regarding SMTP, what it is and how to set up a plugin for it?
