kovakos on "Ajax Add to Cart doesn't update the Cart Widget when it is empty"

Hi there,

I'm working on a food ordering platform using woocommerce. To give a better customer experience on the site, I have enabled ajax for the add to cart button.

I also display a cart widget right next to the products. The good thing is that the cart updates using ajax when a new item is added but only if the cart already contains at least one item.

When the cart is empty the add to cart button doesnt trigger ajax in the cart and doesnt update. I have been searching everywhere for the solution but couldnt find anything only this thread but I wasnt able to implement the instructions.

Any ideas how this can be resolved so that the empty cart updates as soon as a new item is added? Any help is appreciated, thank you.
