James Huff on "do i need to renew my domain mapping?"

Hello!
I have a godaddy domain that i mapped on a wordpress.com site almost a year ago, then swtiched to wordpress.org about 6 months ago.

now i'm getting notifications that say "This upgrade replaces your site's default address of "motherhoodinhollywood.wordpress.com" with the custom domain "motherhoodinhollywood.com. If this upgrade expires, your site will no longer be available at "motherhoodinhollywood.com".

do i need to renew the domain mapping for wordpress.com if i'm using wordpress.org? my domain and hosting on are both through godaddy.

it could be that this email is still referencing my old site but i would rather have another opinion just in case :)

It looks like motherhoodinhollywood.com is directed to BlueHost now, so you don't need to renew your domain mapping at WordPress.com.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_vs_WordPress.com

yes that's correct! I forgot my hosting is through bluehost and my domain is through godaddy.

i'm not going to renew my domain mapping then. thanks for the help!
