WordPress alternatives?

So I’ve been working closely with this web design Milton Keynes based agency I hired to make an e-commerce website. They specialise in WordPress, and the project is going smoothly so far. However, I can’t help but wonder if there are other platforms out there that are better for my needs than WordPress. Can I get opinions on some of the top alteatives for it? I just want to know.
