Buying backlinks - worth it on not?

I am looking to build quality backlinks and wondered what members thoughts are on paying for backlinks using sites like Adsy.com Icopify.co and other marketplaces?

Looking at many of the websites where links could be posted, the quality is pretty poor. But I do like the ability to filter results based on interest & by geographical/country audience to find suitable places. I think I have found some beneficial sites to pay to display links/content on but not sure if this is worth...
