doubleedesign on "not able to run the site made on wordpress"

i have recently bought a domain and a hosting plan on which i have downloaded wordpress.
i have created the website on wordpress.
but whenever i try to access the webpage to my site it is not showing the website built on wordpress instead it is still showing the welcome page of
"this site is under construction"
i am totally new to this.. kindly help.
how do i direct my domain name to the site made on wordpress instead of dafault index.html

So in your site root, e.g. public_html or htdocs folder on your web server, you have two index files - index.php and index.html?

If so, remove index.html, and the server will start using index.php which is WordPress's file.
