We had marked a commenter as spam, but then they contacted us, and we realized they weren't. So, we deleted all the blacklisted info out. It should have then reset and made it so they weren't blacklisted. However, they've tried to post multiple times since, even deleting their cookies, and they are still blacklisted. Any ideas?

What does the history link show (when hovering your mouse over the comment)? Marked as spam, or cleared by Akismet? If marked as spam, drop a line here with your API key and site URL:

Here's actually how we did it. We clicked Spam on the actual comment. We also took the IP address, went into Settings/Discussion Settings/Comment Blacklist. So we've deleted the IP address out of the blacklist, but still nothing. We've asked the commenter to post again, and we've checked trash and spam and it's not in either place. Any more ideas?

maybe set the ip to the whitelist?
also verify ip is not blocked in your htaccess file
or you may have to search the database for that ip and remove, from lockout table or such

How do you set an IP on a whitelist? I can't find a whitelist in my WordPress admin.
Also, why do you think the IP is blacklisted? Does WordPress keep it in a general database or just specific to our site? I'll have to ask our admin about the htaccess file.

i used a plugin that allowed me to set whitelist/blacklist ip, wordfence i think. i forgot u use askimet.
