Quimbly on "[Plugin: Events Manager] Add-to Google Calendar button uses wrong time and other problems"

ساخت وبلاگ

Hi there,
See this event: http://islandlifefinancial.com/events/victoria-cashflow-101-game-night-2016-04-04/

I'm trying to use the %_EVENTGCALLINK% tag on my events pages. It's displaying, but the details used for the calendar entry are incorrect.

1) If you click on the "remind me with Google Calendar" button, the date for the event is correct, but the start and end times are both incorrect.

2) The description formatting includes HTML tags. How can I have these stripped out?

3) The address field on the calendar entry uses the title of the location, instead of the address.

How can I fix these problems?

Hi,

It's possible this is a conflict caused by your theme or another plugin. To check if it is, can you test with all other plugins deactivated and while running the default WordPress theme?

I disabled all plugins except the Events Manager plugin, and tested with the Twenty-Fifteen, Twenty-Fourteen, and Twenty-Thirteen themes. I still get the same results each time.

Which version of Events Manager are you using?

Version 5.6.2

And WordPress Version 4.4.2

What happens if you test with a basic event that only uses plain text (not HTML or other formatting) in the description?

Using HTML in the description does not appear to make any difference.

That said, I have discovered something that should help to track down the problem. The time that is being used in the Google calendar entry is exactly 7 hours early. So, if I set the event for 6:30pm, the Google calendar entry tries to set it for 11:30am; 7:30pm becomes 12:30pm, etc.

So, is this a timezone or server problem? What do you think?

Could be. It's worth testing with the timezone under the main WordPress settings menu set to the a numerical timezone, rather than a city. Sometimes that can cause problems.

That fixed the time problem! I guess I never set the timezone before and it was set to UTC+0, so that explains it! Thank you!!

Now, is there any way to strip out the HTML tags for the description in Google calendar?
