Hi,
thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.
Can you please provide more information here? What's the exact error message?
I haven't done a lot of testing with PHP 7, but did not have such a problem yet.
Regards,
Tobias
Hi Tobias,
Thank you for the quick response. This is the message:
Fatal error: Class 'TablePress_Model' not found in /home/finkleyd/public_html/wp-content/plugins/tablepress/models/model-options.php on line 21
Unfortunately my Hosting provider are forcing PHP7 at the moment as a roll out.
Regards,
Giles
Hi,
thanks for the error message! That is really strange. I don't see how this could be happening.
I have now tested with PHP 7 as well and am not able to reproduce this. Also, this error is not really specific to PHP 7 and should have happened with other versions as well.
Is it maybe possible that your TablePress installation is corrupt? Can you please reinstall TablePress from a fresh download to make sure that all files exist?
Also, can you please try again after temporarily deactivating all other plugins and after switchting to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Sixteen? That way, we can rule out an exteal interference.
Regards,
Tobias
I have tried all mentioned and still getting the same error. When I switch back to PHP 5 the issue goes. I have even tried purging the cache of the site.
Any other ideas?
Hi,
no, sorry, I'm out of ideas here then :-( I have tested again on my dev server, running PHP 7.0.5, and everything works fine. Also, on a different server with PHP 7.0.4, no problems.
I can therefore only assume that this must be something specific in the structure of your site or server. Can you maybe set up a fresh/empty WP site (in a subfolder, for example) with only TablePress, to see if that works?
Regards,
Tobias
