Sam on "How to change comment background color? ( .comment-item { } )"

When I try to change the background color of Idea by editing the CSS nothing happens. How can I change it from grey to white?

I tried to change the color by editing this code:

.comment-item { background: #f5f5f5 none repeat scroll 0 0; margin: 12px 0; padding: 32px;
}

You have tried the right thing but I don't know why that did not work.

You can try this for better result:

.comment-item { background: #000 none repeat scroll 0 0 !important;
}

You can adjust the color as per your requirement.
