omnibusf on "Premium Themes That Won't Give Panic Attack Upon Updating?"

Hello,

-I'm using Theme Fusion's Avada Theme for 2 websites & it's my first experience via WP.

-I've Custom Css & Inline HTML elements added to Avada's theme. I've been assured by Theme Fusion I don't need a Child's Theme for updating.

-Since Oct 2015 - Avada's had 7 updates and a few have required days to repair my site. Many elements on site become completely changed, different and terrible looking. Theme Fusion support is very helpful.

-I'm now dealing with Avada's recent update to 4.0.2. This time I updated on a "test" website via my Host to sort through the issues again.

Question:
Are all WordPress Premium Themes basically the same when it comes to updating issues? I had a simple website from 2010 made by a Web designer, and never had to do updates- so "updating" issues are new to me.

I understand the importance of updating, but would you know of amazing Premium Themes to purchase that are easier with updating OR would a Child's Theme for Avada help?

I'd be so grateful to hear your opinion? . . Sorry this was kinda long.
