kingvish on "[Plugin: Wordfence Security] issue with contact form 7 and wp editor plugin"

I am in need to customize contact form scripts.js file. I have installed wp editor plugin. when i edit script.js file and click on save, it posts data on admin-ajax.php and i am getting 403 forbidden by wordfence. i have added my ip in whitelist but still same issue. I can see 403 response preview on google crome console but checking "I am certain this is a false positive" and clicking whitelist this action is not working on console response preview.

I took another route to edit plugin (scripts.js) and updated file via ftp. but in frontend full url of js file is like scripts.js?ver=4.4.1 which doesn't shows changes i made. when i remove ?ver=4.4.1 or change it then i can see the changes i made. i have cleared browser cache, contacted bluehost and tried to clear server cache, deactivate wordfence and activated back. but, none of this worked.

Hi,

For the first part -- is this on a Windows server? The latest version saves an issue with whitelisting on Windows servers, so updating should help, if that is the case.

There shouldn't be any issues on a linux server, unless the permissions on files in wp-content/wflogs/ have changed since installation. (If using linux, check the permissions to make sure the web server user can write to the files in that directory.)

Editing the files manually should work, and you shouldn't see different versions when changing the "?ver" string-- it sounds like there might still be another cache involved if that is not working.

Thank you for your reply.
Last time i contact bluehost again and then some how after disabling wp editor plugin i modified the file and finally show updated version on front-end.

But, another issue is that, many plugins and theme option panel are using ajax post to save changes and i found many times those ajax request are being blocked by wordfence with 403 and asking to check it as "I am certain this is a false positive". can you say anything about it?
