Hi There
When I try to login into a client's website, I am getting the following message:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 235088 bytes) in /home/hx8c9bph/public_html/website/wp-content/themes/flare/lib/functions.php on line 226

I have added - define('WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M'); - to the config.php file directly after <?php but this did not resolve the issue.

My client's website is http://www.howittpartners.com.au/

If anyone out there could help me out, that would be great.

- Try switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue. If you don't have access to your admin area, use FTP , or your web-host's cPanel or whatever file management application your host provides (no Dashboard access required). Navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and switch to the default theme by renaming your current theme's folder by adding "-old" to the end of the folder name. Alteately, you can remove other themes except the default theme. That will force your site to use it.

Thanks for your help.

I tried what you suggested and I could login through "TwentyFourteen" so it looks as if it's a theme issue. I updated "Flame" to it's latest version, as well as updating all WordPress and plugin files but I still cannot login through the "Flame" theme.

So would you have any other suggsetions than changing theme, or logging in every time with the your technique?

You need to contact the theme's developer.

Where did you download the theme from?

I guess Flare Theme is much more complex than a Standard WP Theme.
You might want to try and add the following code into wp-config.php:

define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );

Please note that the above syntax is different from the one you are citing in the opening post. Just in case you were thinking you had already tried in vain with double the amount of memory. I hope it'll make a difference. ;-)
