The menu item looks exactly the same as menu item with sum-menu items. SO it is not seen whether user can see more choices when she hovers / taps the menu item. How can this be changed? Also if there are any other ways to make the menu more interesting by visual properties, list some, please. Thank you.

The premium version has a built in option to enable an arrow icon for submenu items. With the free theme you can use this css:

line-height: 1;
-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased;
-moz-osx-font-smoothing: grayscale;

Just paste that in your custom css box in Theme Options > Advanced Settings.
Not sure what kind of visual properties you mean. You can add icons to your menu. See here- http://www.kadencethemes.com/add-icons-to-your-menu-virtue-theme/
