Mike Jolley on "[Plugin: WooCommerce] Change of phone number in customer registration field to not required"

In my customer registration site the phone number is given as required. I'd like to change that because a lot of people are unconfortable with that. I already managed to do that in my check-out page. But I have not found a solution for the customer registration site.

If the required status is filtered at this point https://github.com/woothemes/woocommerce/blob/c6975fa7d5b5e403b19d59154e081c26342a75fe/includes/class-wc-countries.php#L1027 it will affect checkout AND account.
