It seems this doesn't work on Multisite. When enabled (either network-enabled or single-site-enabled), the SVG upload is accepted, but not displayed. Then, the media is served as mime type "image/svg" instead of "image/svg+xml" as it should be.
I can't figure this out, yet, but maybe you can solve it before I can.
It seems part of the problem is ms-files.php, which my WPMS is still using (since I launched my Multisite before WordPress 3.5).
