Hello, I'm working away this afteoon and suddenly, I find I cannot access my site wp admin. I get a page indicating that my login is blocked. I can't figure it out, here's why: I have changed nothing. It is happening suddenly on all browsers. It is happening on all of my WP sites. I even uploaded a backup of one site by ftp overwriting the current files, still no fix.

Can someone please help me with this? and why just suddenly out of the blue when nothing has changed or happened, unless WP or a plugin did something without my knowledge?

What's the EXACT TEXT of the message you receive telling you you're blocked?

also, I cannot log into admin using any of the site users or any of my names.

When you go here, http://www.musicalhelp.org/wp-login.php you will see a link to help with cookies.

That link doesn't help. I tried all that. All cookies are allowed on my browsers so it's not that.

FYI for Support: site is musicalhelp.org

The site is just blank. Have you tried the basics like disabling all plugins and switching to one of the default WP themes?

It's strange that multiple sites are affected.

yeh, I see the site is gone now. It was there a little bit ago.
This has got me baffled. I'm thinking I've been and am still in the process of being because nothing we try solves it.

How can I disable plugins or switch themes without logging into admin? I only have the one theme I'm using.

My other site is coming up on the web just fine but I still cannot access the wp-admin on it either, in any browser.

If you have access to the FTP just rename the plugins folder into something like plugins-old. For the theme, just rename it as well.

You may want to read through this as well:

Why rename folders? then they won't work.

ok, the other site is ok now. Musicalhelp.org still is messed up.

FYI, sometimes Explorer or Edge browser won't recognize html5 so if using those, the site may not work right. It's all over Microsoft about that.

I can't log in through my hosting provider either.

hosting service tells me that Wp white pages indicate a plugin issue. I didn't install plugins today though. Oh well, I'll try that you said and let ya know.

Why rename folders? then they won't work.

Precisely. We do this just to isolate the cause of the problem. If by doing this, the site gets fixed, then that means that the cause of the problem is from the folder that we just renamed. To disable individual plugins, just do the same to its folder.

If you can't login to your hosting provider dashboard then that's a different problem. WordPress will not affect your access to your hosting provider dashboard.

Why rename folders? then they won't work.

Exactly. We are trying to narrow it down to a plugin or theme. And you do not have to use ftp. Your host provides you with a file manager that you can use to rename, delete, upload, etc.

Wp white pages

I have no idea what they mean.

As I said above, try renaming http://www.musicalhelp.org/wp-content/plugins/gc-message-bar to http://www.musicalhelp.org/wp-content/plugins/gc-message-bar-old

This plugin shows javascript errors.

You're exactly right, kmessinger. I changed the plugin I most recently worked on and Voila! I'm in. Thanks
