We will surely take it into consideration. We have had many customers request a "Are you sure you want to delete all products?" since the bulk action is more problematic. Therefore, you should already have an alert if you are trying to delete all products. However, we do not have an alert for single product deletion right now.

We may suggest you changing the CSS file of the plugin in order to hide the delete button that is found below the product name. Then, the only way to delete a product would be to select it, and to choose in the dropdown menu to remove it.

As for the access role, you may give full catalog access to a contributor, but cannot restrict his or her access to elements of the catalog.
