khunmax on "[Plugin: The SEO Framework] Conflict with BBpress"

ساخت وبلاگ

Hey Sybre

I have developed several sites using the Generate press theme and have installed your plugin with good results. Thanks for all of your great work to date.

I am currently developing a new site, again using the GP theme, and have included a BBpress forum. The site is hosted locally with xampp.

After switching themes, and then deactivating all plugins, I have identified that your plugin has a conflict with BBpress.

The outcome of that conflict is simple enough to describe. When your plugin is activated, The very first post by the author of a topic is not displayed on the front end (regardless of the viewers role or whether he is logged in or not). Any susequent replies to the post can be viewed however. Upon deactivating the SEO Framework, BBpress then functions as normal and the first post by the author of the topic can be viewed.

I have spent a good deal of time searching for a fix on the web. Closest thing I good could find are some quite old threads talking about a conflict between BBPress and other plugins that resulted in the same missing topic content type issue. Link here:

Please note that I have tested and the conflict is still there on a vanilla install of just GP (or Twenty Fifteen) with BBP and SEOF. Deactivate SEOF, BBpress display as normal, activate SEOF, first post of content in each topic goes missing.

Anyway, It would be great if you could come up with a fix because I am already using your plugin in all of my other sites and am therefore reticent to change to another SEO solution.

Please let me know if you need any further information.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Kind Regards

Max

Hi Max,

Thanks for the detailed bug report! I confirmed this issue to be present since version 2.1.7! That's a very long time, it's odd that it hasn't be caught before.

Nevertheless, I'll be sure to find the root cause of this :). Thanks!

Update: It seems that the topic is called as a "Search Query". Which should be false. I'll notify the bbPress developers and I will apply a patch for in in the meantime on The SEO Framework 2.6.5 :).

Once again, thanks for the report!

Hey Sybre

Thanks for your quick response and confirmation of the bug.

I found this thread which has links out to a patch/plugin by another developer. Perhaps it is of some use to you?

https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/topics-not-appearing-in-forum/

The page offering the patch/plugin is here:

http://www.rewweb.co.uk/bbpress-wp4-fix/

If possible, please let me know when you plan to release v. 2.6.5. I am working on a tight deadline at this end, and I can't go live without a functional SEO solution.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Kind Regards

Max

Hi Max,

The fix will be present in bbPress 2.6.0 (ETA soon).
And of course in 2.6.5 of The SEO Framework, which should be released this weekend.

Good luck with your website! :) Cheers!

Hey Sybre

Thanks for the update and links.

I will leave this thread marked unresolved until I receive and roadtest your weekend update...:-)

Thanks again for your valuable assistance.

Kind Regards

Max

Hi Sybre

I am running your beta version and I am pleased to report that the bug is now gone.

Well done.

Because I have your beta installed my admin is prompting me to update your plugin. I imagine I just ignore that prompt until you release the latest version into the WP directory?

Any idea when that will be?

Thanks again for your prompt and valuable assistance.

Kind Regards

Max
