Christian on "[Plugin: Yoast SEO] Twitter images post okay sometime but not always"

Hi,

For some reason, when I tweet a blog post, using Social Warfare plugin, the blog post image displays fine on Twitter for some posts but not others. All posts have a 1024 x 512 image for Twitter loaded into Yoast. But sometimes the images get cropped or the top half of the featured image 800 x 1200 get posted instead.

As mentioned this only happens for certain posts?

Also, on another site, the Twitter image does not post at all, even though it's loaded into yoast.

Is anyone else experiencing these issues?

Am I missing something?

Twitter doesn't always grab content properly. As long as your twitter tags are correct in your post meta (do 'view source') -- not much else you can do.

This presumes you have used the Twitter card testing tool to verify your twitter meta data isn't faulty?

But yes, Twitter can "time out" grabbing stuff. Sometimes you go back later to look at the share and the data *is* there, just didn't display the first time.

Good to know this info. but I still don't know why the top half of my featured image sometime gets posted? Have you had this happen to any of your posts before?

Update. I used the testing tool and all was fine. I share the same Strategies post and it posted fine this time!
