I'm new to all of this and am quite confused regarding the instructions outlined here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/altering-or-removing-titles-on-calendar-views/?q=/renaming-the-calendar-to-something-other-than-calendar-of-events/.

I understand and am able to accomplish the first part of this tutorial (removing the title), which I did from a copy as outlined. But I cannot figure out the second part, which is what I really want to do - to change the title. I understand about adding the snippet of code to the file and editing it, but I am totally confused about changing the theme's functions.php file. I have been unable to locate any file called functions.php within the plugin. ?? I'm feeling very dense (the answer is probably very simple). I appreciate your help.

So sorry for the confusion here! You will be able to find that file in your theme folder rather than the plugin. :)

Let me know if you do not see a functions.php file in there -- that would certainly indicate a much larger issue.
