Great plugin!

Wonder if it is possible to have the recaptcha appear on a login form that is being called in a template?

Using
<?php wp_login_form(); ?>
to call the login form on password protected pages/posts and login page.
As outlined here

Anything I need to add as a function or argument to this to have the recaptcha appear?

Found something similar on another recaptcha plugin.
add_filter( 'login_form_middle','cptch_custom_form' );

Does this plugin have something similar that I can hook into using that filter?

Still trying to add the recaptcha to a login form that is called in a theme template using
<?php wp_login_form(); ?>

No options?
Or a hook I can use with the add_filter?

I have the same issue using the Bookly appointment booking plugin. It uses a template login page with the php wp_login_form() function
