Looks like this is still an issue:

Visual Composer is pretty much the standard enhanced editing plugin, and comes bundles in many, many themes. It has its own Role Manager section, but doesn't allow for the granular control + custom roles that URE does. Would be great if the two could play nicely together?

I have an older VC version 4.8.0.1. It does not work (generates JavaScript error) with WordPress 4.5 even I deactivate all plugins, including URE.

If you may provide a recent VC copy for the testing purposes contact me via email: support [at-sign] role-editor.com
I'm ready to check and fix possible compatibility issues.

I got VC copy. Thanks. I guarantee that I install it and use at my local development environment and for the testing/development purpose only.

I installed VC and updated the page content successfully (WP 4.5.3). Could you provide more details on a problem you have with URE and VC activated together?
