Hi,

When I edit, a map appears briefly, then it disappears and it's replaced by "Oops! Something went wrong. This page didn't load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details." When I inspect, I see this error: "Google Maps API error: MissingKeyMapError"

I tried adding my own API key, but then it says there are two keys included and there is going to be problems. Which happened, so I removed my own keys.

How do I fix this??? Please help.

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem, the image of the map doesn't show in the admin panel, with or without API Key.

I use the PRO version of this plugin.

Thanks for your help,

Hi there.

Google Maps now requires the use of a Google Maps API key to display a map on your site as per this article: https://googlegeodevelopers.blogspot.co.za/2016/06/building-for-scale-updates-to-google.html.

Using a Google Maps API key will not cost you anything, unless you exceed 25 000 requests per day (You will be billed by Google).

To create a Google Maps API key, please follow this documentation: http://www.wpgmaps.com/documentation/creating-a-google-maps-api-key/

Your API key can be generated in the Google Developers Console here: https://console.developers.google.com/apis/library

Please note that this is required when using the Basic or Pro version of our plugin. An additional video tutorial on how to create the API key will also be released shortly.

I have the same error "MissingKeyMapError" (I see it by Firefox website inspector), even I have entered the Google map API key for the map. The key is enabled and I see at Google console that the key works.

I have the latest WP version 4.5.3, the latest WP Google Maps basic, and latest WP Google Maps Pro version running. Before I upgraded to the Pro version it worked, now with Pro not any more.

A bug in the Pro version?

Hi there.

Please update your Pro version to version 5.71 to rectify this. Sorry about that.

Thanks, this works for me.

Thank you, i am using the newest version of event manager (basic) and i have installed wp-google maps addon and added the Google Maps API Key like shown in the video.

But unfortunately i am getting still the error message when trying to create a event location. How do i tell event manager to use the wp-google-maps plugin to show the maps?

I followed the instructions for getting an Google Maps Javascript API. I added the key to the settings, which allows me to open my map (before the location field was not working). But I get an error on the front and backend of the site:

This page was unable to display a Google Maps element. Please contact the site administrator. If you are the administrator of this site, please check the JavaScript console or check the following page for troubleshooting: http://g.co/mapsJSApiErrors

In Firefox debugging the error is:

Google Maps API error: Google Maps API error: UrlAuthenticationCommonError https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-message#url-authentication-common-error

Hi there.

@faceude. Please confirm you have the Google Maps JavaScript API, as well as the Geolocation API enabled in your project. Does this help at all?

@lutzcreativegroup. I've responded to the new topic you created :)

Hi

I am having the same issue. I have created my Google API Key and enabled the Javascript and Geolocation API's.

This improved from showing nothing to at least momentarily loading the map before it dissappears and a different error message comes up:
This page was unable to display a Google Maps element. Please contact the site administrator. If you are the administrator of this site, please check the JavaScript console or check the following page for troubleshooting: http://g.co/mapsJSApiErrors

My site is also verified with Google.

Neither the front or backend is working.

My map is here - http://maan.co.za/who-we-are/

For me the current WP Google Maps and Pro works only if I leave at the Google API manager the field to input the URL referrers empty. So please remove in the Google API manager all URL referrers and try it again.

This is for me a quick fix but not the solution in regard of security.
