jdenning47 on "[Plugin: Content Syndication Toolkit] transport error - could not open socket"

This plugin was working great earlier this year, but stopped working suddenly in the last couple of weeks.

I've deleted and re-installed the toolkit and reader on the content creator site and the reader site I'm trying to syndicate content between. Still it doesn't work.

I get this email when trying to pull in content:

This is a message from your Content Syndication Toolkit wordpress plugin.

There was an error when trying to get new syndication posts from the content creator. All posts in this import will need to be reimported.

Please login to wordpress and make a manual content pull request using the plugin tools under "Settings -> Content Syndication" in the wordpress admin area.

Here is the error message:

"transport error - could not open socket"

Looks like an issue with wordpress xml rpc api not being able to access your master site anymore.

Check that your host has not locked this file down on the master site:

http://YOUR_MASTER_SITE_URL/xmlrpc.php

if you get an error message from the server when trying to visit this url you will need to contact your host to unlock acess to the xmlrpc file

Are there any other reasons to get this email?? I get 'XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.' I am with WP Engine.

I am doing a pull from the client site.
