gilmoursa on "[Plugin: Advanced Custom Fields] Hide if event is past"

I have a custom post type called *event*. There's a button at the bottom that let's you buy tickets. I'd like to hide that button after the event is over. I have an ACF field called event_date of type *date picker*

**For example:**

if today < event_date <button> buy tickets </button>
endif

I'm just not sure about how to do the if today < event_date part
