Hi all,
I've had my WP website for a while, using a child theme.
Now I want to start a blog, which should be accessed from my website preferable through a link to the blog from the dropdown menue of my WP-website.

Is there any way I can have both? I've been playing around now a couple of hours with posts and pages and am slowly but surely going crazy.

If someone could give me a tip or let me know where to find more information about this topic I would be very thankful!
Thanks,
Cecilia

In your title you say static web page but in your question you say it is a WP site. Which is it?

Your blog page is just a list of posts by category. There should be a template for this in your theme. If not just create on in your child theme.

Use Google, it is your friend:

Add a page called "Blog", then, under settings->readings, set that page as your posts page. Now, http://example.com/blog will list all your posts.

Thanks Stedat!
I did this and unfortunately it looks like s**t.
I can't seem to access the sidebars for the front page. I can't follow the instructions suggested on the "Blog"-page for creating sidebars for the posts-front page.
Maybe it's the child theme that messes up the page, since I can't seem to chose other sidebars than those specified for (the static) index-page.
I'll have to figure out how to get a round this. I created a sidebar and tried to chose it both in the posts and on the page called "Blog". Didn't work though.

Thanks anyhow! I'm thankful for further tips!

Best,
Cecilia

Please provide either a link to your site or tell me what theme you're using.
