saxtonstudio on "hide categories in Stockholm theme blog posts"

I've looked through the forums, but haven't found a good up-to-date answer - for me, that is, as I'm petrified of touching code. I'm thinking there has to be an easy way to keep categories from showing up above (or below) each post. After years of working with WP (as designer, not a developer), I would have expected there to be a "show or hide" categories button - something that simple. Maybe a plugin? Date and author are all I want to be visible. Can you help?
