sterndata on "Client of a WordPress business, told my request is 'impossible'"

Hi everyone,

I have purchased a website in full, which is based on WordPress (not sure which version). Please understand I have no technical background or expertise.

To summarise, it is a website which is aiming offers Youtube hosted free therapy exercises for rehabilitation patients to assist recovery.

Part of the website is the 'prescribe' page where the prescriber can select a video and input parameters eg duration of exercise, number of repetitions etc. The fields are different for some exercises.

I have been told, now very late into the process, that my request is impossible / too difficult. Is this true, or are they being lazy or just do not have enough expertise? I need this part of the website for it to work as intended. Thank you in advance.
