CTC goes to enormous lengths to carefully analyze the parent theme and determine the dependencies and load order of the stylesheets. With the release of version 2.0 it even preserves the action hook priorities and compensates accordingly.

When you run the theme Analyzer with the debug mode checked, you can view the analysis object by opening the toggle panel that appears.

Here you will see all the dependent stylesheet handles, both registered and unregistered, as well as the complete style queue.

The resulting dependencies are written to the child theme functions file as machine generated code and carefully inserted using the same process WordPress uses to modify the .htaccess file.

Even after hundreds of hours of development and testing over countless themes, some users experienced issues with the analyzer. We are currently in beta testing for version 2.1.0 which addresses many of the issues that came up with version 2.0. Most of these had to do with conflicts with the Customizer and have been resolved.
