Not sure I understand how Google Drive works with UpdraftPlus. https://updraftplus.com/support/configuring-google-drive-api-access-in-updraftplus/

Are you saying I need to create a New Project for every WordPress website I need to backup using UpdraftPlus and Google Drive? Dos that also hold true for both live and development copies?

Hi Idealynx,

For each WordPress installation you have it should connect to a new Google Drive API Project.

This is to avoid problems in the future such as UpdraftPlus randomly being unable to connect to Google Drive.

It is unknown why this happens and maybe a glitch on Google Drives side.

It is best to create the different API projects now and avoid future problems.

Google have unpublished limits on token requests. That is, they publish that limits exist, but not what the limits are. They do this because they wish to discourage mass use of Google Drive (they prefer non-consumers / people handling business data to look at Google Cloud instead). Experience/trial-and-error shows that you're less likely to hit the limits by using multiple projects.
