Jonathan on "[Plugin: WooCommerce] Nofollow on products and categories"

ساخت وبلاگ

Hi,

I found that i have many nofollow links for random products in my website and i don't know why.

Any advice on how to take them out?

https://macchedil.com is my website.

Do you have any plugins installed that have the ability to set nofollows? e.g. SEO plugins?

By default WooCommerce uses nofollow only for "add to cart" button and for exteal products URLs, since don't should be indexed.

I also got site reports about woocommerce nofollow to all product links on shop and category pages, but actually there two links to the each product, one of which is normal, and the other of which is nofollow is the add to cart link, which when there are variations happens to point to the same page since a variable product can't be added directly to cart.

There may be an argument that if the "add to cart" link is in fact not an add to cart link but a link to the variations page then it should not be accompanied with nofollow.

What does a search engine do if it find follow and nofollow links to the same resource on the same page?

It will follow the ones it's allowed to. The single product page is still indexed.

sure ok thanks,

just to let you know, SEO tools such as onpage.org flag as error the nofollow links to valid indexable pages, as is the case with the variation items add-to-cart-that-links-to-page

In the case of onpage.org, it shows a detailed nofollow listing with From Page and To Page columns, which gives the user quite a shock to see hundreds of valid inteal pages listed with nofollow links.
[the genuine ?add-to-cart= links are not reported as error as far as I can see]
