No, not yet. I'm waiting for the server people to see if they can roll the site back to the last scheduled backup (it's Sunday in NZ).
Basically, what happened was this: everything was working fine, no conflicts. I wanted to up the site security so gone through the Settings to see what can be improved. In Settings, I clicked something to do with permissions for PHP files and once refreshed my site was a blank white screen.
I've only used Cp File Manager before, so had no need for FTP, but reading that some .files may remain hidden even if "show hidden files" button is ticked, I tried to open a FileZilla connection but could not connect even though log in details were directly from my host.
So, I don't see the .htaccess file in my root server and only just realised the importance of the file (I'm a fairly basic "need-to-know-only" user)
I've tried deactivating the plugin via PHP My Admin as per the tutorial, and also by renaming the plugin folder but none of this restored the access
Appreciate your time and help here, the issue so far seems a bit beyond my ability
Derek
