Denzel Chia on "[Theme: evolve] 404 errors relating to Authentication or function"

Evolve: I just started getting some unique (for me) 404 Authentication or function errors (at least, that's the only way I know to describe them.) Examples:

I am receiving email notices from "Broken Link Manager", a plug-in that I installed.

That plugin must be showing you links that crawler or user or any attack script is trying to access but not found.
Not really a broken link on site.

Any broken link will show up in browser developer tool's error console when you view the webpage.

When I checked each Broken URL log, for the first time ever, there was no associated IP address for the PC creating the "broken link" report.

HOWEVER, within about 3 minutes of you sending your previous response above, I received 37 new Broken URLs with the same IP address. Would anything you have done to look into the problem create errors? Does your IP address begin with 104.37.***.***? These new links all had ".php" extensions like http://lifeskillssa.com/security.php and http://lifeskillssa.com/xmlrppc.php and http://lifeskillssa.com/wp-includes/ms-files-qu.php

I believe I might have found the cause of the original problem. When studying the links, I noticed everyone had "/maps/api/js/AuthenticationService.Authenticate?". I recalled that Yoast Local SEO plugin announced that Google Maps began requiring Google Maps Javascript API and API key for geocoding. Not many days ago, I tried to create these API keys and inserted them into Local SEO- Yoast SEO plugin. I believe I messed it up the first time, because the API keys were different from each other. Yesterday, I went back to Google and created new API keys and inserted these identical API keys in the plugin under API key for Google Maps and API key for geocoding. Since that time, these errors have stopped.

I've been waiting to see if these errors occurred again after I posted the "solution." I received 2 shortly after posting above, and then I've received at least one per day thereafter.

I don't know if you are familiar with the "Broken Link Manager" plugin, but it always sends the IP address of the PC creating the error. Out of the numerous "broken links" that I've received, these "maps/api/js/AuthenticationService.Authenticate?" errors are the only ones that did not have an IP address attributed to it. Does that tell us anything?

Update: I found another plug-in requiring the Google Maps API code: Google Maps Easy. I'll let you know if I continue to get errors after I've updated that plug-in.

I found an additional plug-in requiring the Google Maps API code: WP Google Map.
