Proxy websites - are they still profitable?

I had a few proxy websites back in the days and I was using AdSense on them, which of course didn't made me rich, but at least it was something.

Are proxy websites still profitable? Pop-up/under ads or something else that one would use on them to generate at least some profit? WordPress ...
