No Longer Able To Send Messages.

Through my iPhone app, Messenger, I can suddenly no longer send messages of any kind. I get a "Cannot Send" in red letters below the text. Never had this happen before. I can send messages fine on my laptop and I can do everything else on Facebook (post, like, comment, etc.) I updated my IOS and re-installed both Facebook and Messenger with no change.
