Single domain and multiple website hosting

If i purchase a single domain, shared linux hosting (mentioned as upto 3 websites), can i run 3 different websites like aaa.com, bbb.com, ccc.com in that hosting package. What is addon domain? is it same like subdomain? is it like sub1.aaa.com and sub2.aaa.com? WordPress ...
