Is Adsense Worthwhile for lower Traffic Sites?

I have a website that is still in its infancy but hoping to continue to grow. It gets between 1500 and 3000 visits a month currently. Are there any downsides to adding adsense to it to try and generate a few bucks while traffic is still relatively low?

Any tips for monetization through ads with other services or for driving traffic to the site? Thank you! WordPress ...
