Nick Young on "[Plugin: Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] using Simple calendar by Moonstone"

I would like to show a public google calendar in the left side bar. The calendar has predefined events for the whole year - think 'concert season'. The business owner will update the google calendar once a year and the updated calendar then should show on the website.
I installed the Simple Calendar in Senses Lite. I can coect to the google calendar, however, any appearance chances a make in WP are only visible in the Preview Changes mode. Also the whole preview page looks different from the page I customized. what I see in the webpage is simply a different calendar.
Is the calendar id the issue? My calendar id is [calendar id="36"] and the script shows calendar-2 ???
