For Lets Encrypt to issue and autoupdate certificates, the public_html/.well-known/acme-challenge/ directory MUST be accessible.

The Plugin does not support this. Most of the Panels does support Lets Encrypt nowadays.

If one of the AIOWPS firewall rules is causing this then I recommend that you do some tests by disabling/enabling the firewall rules until you find the particular rule.
When you find the rule which is doing the blocking just leave it disabled.
