Not done anything to the install other than updates for months, but today I get a 'page not found' error when accessing domain.com/wp-admin. URL bar says 'domain.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fdomain.com%2Fwp-admin' . Looked using FTP and wp-admin/index.php IS present, as is wp-login.php.
Have tried renaming plugins folder, but couldn't delete .htaccess file - have insufficient permissions to do anything other than view it. Site *appears* to be running okay, just can't get into the back end!
