Incorporating a business is a must or not?

Good day there! I own a small business outside of Ontario city. Now I'm plaing to expand my business and relocate to Ontario. However, I am not familiar with the rules in Ontario for starting a business and, when I discussed this with my friends, they said that incorporating a business is a must if we are plaing to start a large company.
