Where to get good low res images for free?

Hey guys, I would like to get a source for royalty free images under 1mb. Sites like Pexels e.t.c have premium images for free but the sizes are too large usually around 3-4mb's and I want to cut down on page loading time.

Is there any source for images which will look good on a page but with the lower file size please? WordPress ...
