wietsketammes on "[Plugin: WP Store Locator] Can't Update 'Start Point' in Settings & Map Not Displaying"

Hi, the plugin stopped working for me.

I removed the plugin and re-installed and I'm still seeing the same issue where there is an ! image in the 'start location' field and the map preview says:

Oops! Something went wrong.
This page didn't load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details.

I don't have it up on the site right now since all the locations were erased when I uninstalled.

Didn't see anything on the forum already about this, sorry if so.

Google requires a browser key since the 22th of June. Are you using the latest plugin version?

If so then create a browser key here and set it on the settings page.

I did install the browser key and still it does not work … or does the same as described above.
The issue must be elsewhere …

Having exact same problem as above...

Can you clear the browser cache, and check the browser console for the exact error.

If you go here, then on the overview page go to the Google Maps JavaScript API page and make sure the button on the top of the page says 'Disable'. If it says 'Enable' then click on it.

still have the same problem. the above recommendations did not help.

Same problem with starting point... I followed the steps above and that did it to make the map work again. But in the plugin settings, i still get the message that it's not possible to create a starting point.

What are the errors that show up in the browser console?

The input field for the start point is grey? You are using the latest plugin version?

And in the plugin settings it says: "Oeps er is iets fout gegaan" with grey text and grey circles (maybe a !)

Oh sorry, yes, latest version. And yes the input field for starting point is grey and on top of the settings it says (with a red line): Geef de naam van een stad of land op als start locatie onder de "Kaart Instellingen".

Deze locatie wordt alleen maar gebruikt als het automatische achterhalen van de gebruikers locatie mislukt, of het automatische achterhalen is uitgeschakeld.

You did set a browser key, and flush the browser cache? The error in the console shows up on the settings page, or front-end?

If you view the source of the settings page ( ctrl + u ), and search ( ctrl + f ) for 'maps.google.com' the key= part is included?
